An Edinburgh city centre street was cordoned off on Monday evening (September 19) after a fire broke out in a tenement flat.
A huge emergency response blocked off the road on Bernard Terrace in Newington shortly after 8pm following reports of a blaze, with both fire crews and paramedics in attendance.
Cordoning off the road, images taken from the scene have shown four fire engines and two ambulances outside the block of flats, as well as multiple hose pipes in use.

Speaking to Edinburgh Live, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they had been alerted to the blaze in a second floor flat, with the fire now under control.

Sending a number of water pumps to the scene, some crews were still in attendance shortly after 9.30pm.
It is unclear if there have been any injuries as a result of the blaze.
