A small Edinburgh business have created a dazzling and colourful Christmas window display while teaming up with a local children's cancer charity to provide the less fortunate with some 'festive cheer'.
Maddie and Marks, in Bruntsfield, have gone above and beyond for the second year running to deck out their shop and the exterior of the building with tinsel, baubles and figurines to spread some Christmas cheer while raising funds for FACE.
FACE, (Fight Against Cancer Edinburgh) is a charity formed by volunteers in partnership with the Western General Hospital who work hard to provide "the little things" for those who have been affected by cancer.

In previous years, volunteers have taken children on the trip of a lifetime to Lapland as well as organising several other outings and improving the experience of children in Edinburgh living with cancer and receiving treatment at the Western General Hospital.
With the manager at Maddie and Marks, Jen, sharing her own experience with cancer after losing her mother at a young age, she has decided to yet again try and make a difference this Christmas by starting an online fundraiser and building an incredible window display.
Posting several pictures of the impressive display on Facebook and Crowd Funder, Jen and the team said: "Here at Maddie and Marks, we love a bit of Christmas spirit - and as a children's shoe shop, we are lucky to always have a bit of magic kicking around our shop floor.
"We also know that Christmas can be a hard time for many. I lost my mum to a brain tumour in my late teens, and as a family spent one Christmas in hospital with her. Something that always stuck with me was how, even in the saddest times, there are people that can always muster some Christmas cheer, spreading smiles and kindness.
"We came across FACE, a cancer fund established in 1990 and is based at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre of the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh, last Christmas. They raise funds to provide the “little things” that make a difference to patients and families who have been affected by cancer.
"FACE is run entirely by volunteers, who have directly or indirectly been impacted been cancer. There are no paid members of staff and no offices to maintain. This allows FACE to keep administration costs down to a minimum and maximise the funds that are available to provide help.
"Amongst many things, each year they take families to Lapland. Last year the trip was designed to create a special day for families, especially children, who had lost loved ones. With our twinkly, magical window we hope we spread some festive cheer, and if you feel that warm Christmassy feeling when walking past, and if you feel you are able to, we would really appreciate any donation to this wonderful charity.

Asking for only £200 that will go a long way for the charity, the target has already been smashed and currently sits at £245 in less than two weeks. Those passing the store in Bruntsfield are also welcome to make a donation in-store.
