Locals flocked to the opening of Gordon Ramsay’s newest restaurant, Street Burger, on Monday in St James Quarter.
The Launch Day will see every penny going towards the charity Scottish Spina Bifida. Gordon will then personally match whatever is raised at the fundraising Launch.
The charity is close to his heart, with him being Patron of Scottish Bifida Hydrocephalus (SBH) since 2003. For nearly 20 years he has continued to support SBH Scotland through charitable donations and appearances.

Speaking in a video on his Twitter today, Gordon says “Now Street Burger is open in that fantastic St James Quarter, and guess what? All the proceeds from today’s takings will go directly to Scottish Spina Bifida. This charity is incredibly close to me, so I will match todays proceeds So we can donate even more money to such a great cause.
Throughout November and December, a £1 voluntary donation will be added to diner’s bills at the St Andrew Square restaurant and the St James Quarter restaurant. The money raised will go to SBH charity,
Within the hour the place was nearly full and buzzing with people, which can seat up to 200 people, not bad for the new restaurant, which is located in the infamous “swirl” of St James Quarter. Find Street Burger on level 4, next to Bonnie and Wild market and Salerno Pizza.
For those who don’t know about Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland, it was formed in 1965 by group of parents who each had a child with spina bifida (a fault in the spinal column where vertebrae do not form completely, leaving a gap which then causes problems with the nervous system) and/or hydrocephalus. It is a condition where increased pressure on the brain can cause social, emotional, cognitive, and behavioural difficulties.
Dr Margo Whiteford CBE, Chairperson of SBH Scotland says, “This festive season, we hope all diners visiting Gordon Ramsay’s Street Burger will be happy to know that every meal they have will help us continue supporting thousands of families at a time when they need it the most.
“The option to add a voluntary £1 donation onto your bill is a small gesture that diners at Gordon Ramsay’s Bread Street Kitchen and Street Burger restaurants can make, that’ll have a big impact.”
All the staff are incredibly friendly and enthusiastic, making the visit all that much better. Anyone knows that the way the staff attend and treat you is just as important as how the food tastes.
I tried the J.F.C burger and dirty fries, with street slaw and onion rings and their homemade lemonade. Their menu includes cocktails too for those wanting a boozy lunch / dinner.
The Jocky burger and fries are developed and inspired by Gordons right hand man, James "Jocky" Petrie who is a Scottish professional chef and is the group executive development chef for Gordon Ramsay.
Food came out in good time and the hype is justified – the food is mouth-watering. the onion rings are light and crispy, and the Jocky fried chicken dirty fries are really tasty – just the right amount of spice – I didn’t want to risk the “hotter than hell” fries.
The venue is set over two floors and has an accessible lift. Street burger has outside seating and is also dog friendly inside and out. There will be DJs for those busier weekend nights, with the scope to hire out the top floor for events.
The tasty menu includes Burgers, hot wings, fries, and a dessert and kid’s menu too. Street Burgers Opening hours are 11.30am-11pm Monday to Saturday and 11.30am – 10pm Sundays.
