Edinburgh’s vegan community is in for a treat, with a day of stalls and demos coming to the Corn Exchange.
Held on April 2, the Scottish Vegan Festival will bring together businesses from across the country to sell their goods as well as various talks being held throughout the day. Organised by Farplace Animal Rescue, all profits from the festival will go directly to rescue animals across the UK.
Part of a series of events, the first festival was held back in October. This time, visitors can attend cookery demonstrations and browse a huge range of stalls.

Kicking off the day is a talk on bringing back forests and biodiversity to the UK, and how veganism can help. Then, another talk will show what can be learned from vegan ethics.
The afternoon will see another discussion on a vegan approach to pest control, before a demonstration on how to make cake healthy.
Vegan Outreach Scotland will then be on hand to discuss a ‘new definition of veganism’. They said it surrounds: “A moral duty to actively oppose animal exploitation by encouraging and educating others to become vegan, with the core aim being the eradication of speciesism.”
