A new Italian street food café is set to open in the south west of Edinburgh, offering a range of lunch and dessert options.
Coffeat is to replace the former Glow café on Gilmore Place, near Viewforth, after it was placed on the market earlier in the year. Coffeat is set to offer hot and cold lunch options and sweet treats.
According to their website, Coffeat serve coffee, but are not a typical coffee shop. Inspired by authentic Italian street food, they will service customers treats "created with the high quality fresh ingredients."

These include pizza, focaccia, arancini, homemade desserts and 'much more'. On their newly-created Instagram post, Coffeat teased followers by announcing their grand opening on Friday, June 9.
They said: "Hello Everyone, we are happy to announce that the Coffeat café will be finally open on Friday 9th of June at 8am!
"Please come by and try our Italian street food, desserts, coffee and more. Vegetarians and vegans will also find many options for themselves. We are located at 127 Gilmore Place in Edinburgh. We hope to see you soon!"
The café is set to benefit from a sizeable seating area left behind by the former proprietors to allow customers to eat in and takeaway. Below that, there is a massive basement that's big enough to store food in freezers and fridges.
