Edinburgh schemes video captures 'other side' of the capital tourists never see

A short video captures the "other side" of Edinburgh that the city's thousands of visitors from all around the world seldom see.

Uploaded to YouTube in 2010 by BrianKerr123, the footage, which is titled 'The Other Side of Edinburgh', features a collage of images depicting some of the capital's most deprived housing schemes, many of which have been demolished and redeveloped.

The video begins in rather tongue-in-cheek fashion with a photo showing the Las Vegas-style 'Welcome to Fabulous Edinburgh' sign that was created for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe a few years ago.
