When it comes to the weekend we all need to wind down after a tough few days of work.
And while there will be a broad spectrum of what relaxation means for Edinburgh residents, a Saturday night glass of wine can certainly help you forget some of the stresses of life for a little bit.
Thankfully, in the capital we have a number of options when it comes to wine with a number of hideouts showcasing brilliant bottles from the best wine regions in the world.

And according to reviews left on TripAdvisor, a 'real hidden gem' is Edinburgh's top-rated wine bar with some of its customers calling the Italian drink den 'a wonderful trip to Sicily'.
Rose Street's Veeno, which imports wines from a family-run vineyard in Italy, 'aims to make sure everyone could enjoy great wines and the most authentic sharing boards of meats, cheeses and other appetisers imported from strictly selected Italian producers', according to its owners.
And from 550 reviews on the popular travel review website, the Rose Street spot scores an impressive average rating of 4.5 out of 5.
One recent customer hailed it as 'the best wine bar in Edinburgh' and said: "Me and husband have been to Veeno lots of times, and it never disappoints!
"Stephen and Massimo really looked after us, and gave us the most amazing spread of food, all tasted amazing, authentic Italian as it comes. Basic but beautiful just like Italian food should be!!!
"Stephen had a great knowledge on all the wines and pairing food, just everything he did was what a host should do."
Meanwhile, Veeno offers Trip To Sicily food and wine tasting experiences, which, according to reviews - are all the rave.
One person said: "As newcomers to wine tasting we felt extremely welcomed and made to feel at ease - not only was the wine delicious but the pairings with cheese and meats were divine.
"I’m not usually one for desserts, but the cannoli was absolutely outstanding. The sweet wine that was paired with the savoury pastry and ricotta filling was incredible!"
And wine aside, the food appears a major attraction of this 'small, but friendly' city centre venue.
A further review said: "The menu selection great and everything so tasty! Turned out a true Italian place. We had some caponata and bruschetta and we topped up with a cheese and charcuterie board and large glass of wine.
"Board was meant to be for two people but the reality is … it was huge!! Absolutely loved it and absolutely recommended."
Yet, with Italian reds, whites, spritz and others on the menu, wine is clearly the star of the show. However, for many, the real beauty of this wine bar is the friendly service.
One comment summed up many experiences by saying: "The service was excellent. Thank you to all the staff who couldn't do enough for us.
"We both look forward to returning to this little gem."
