Leith Walk is set to welcome the arrival of an exciting new bakery and coffee shop, which is due to open in the coming week.
Work has been underway for months to transform the site of the former Cassia coffee shop and takeaway and it's hoped Hobz will welcome in its very first customers next month. Hobz is self-described as a micro-bakery based in the heart of Edinburgh, with sourdough bread one of their specialties.

You may have come across the artisan bakery's beautiful breads and bakes across the capital with various pop-up appearances over the last year at likes of Leith Walk police box and Leith Arches Market, but now they have a permanent home.
Sharing the emotions of starting the new venture and 'turning the dream into a reality' on social media, owners said: "We’ve been working on this site since late 2021. We started to look for a location way before that. Hours and hours and hours of thinking, number crunching, dreaming, designing, recipe testing, doubting. It feels so good to finally announce that Hobz will be a permanent feature in Edinburgh.
"All the bureaucratic details were (kinda) finalised ages and ages ago, but delays meant we couldn’t announce anything until now.
"Over the last few months, the team at @splintrdesign and I have been turning this dream into a reality. We all can’t wait to share what’s been going on behind the scenes!
"We’re stressed, nervous, and scared, but also incredibly excited! Stay tuned. Hobz will be different."
