Edinburgh rickshaw discovered in city centre as police search to find owner

Police in Edinburgh have launched an appeal to reunite a slightly more unusual mode of transport with its owner.

Officers in the capital took to social media on Thursday (May 26) to share that they had recovered a rickshaw in the city centre.

Not the most common on Edinburgh's roads, the bikes and adjoining trailers are often used as unique taxis for those making short journeys, particularly in the summer.

Although not an easy item to lose, police shared that they hoped to reunite the bike with its owner as soon as possible.

Posting a picture of the rickshaw, which comes with a bright orange frame and black carriage on the back, a police appeal stated:

"This rickshaw was recently recovered in Edinburgh city centre and we would like to reunite it with its owner.

"If this belongs to you, please call 101 & quote incident 3604 of 24/05/2022."
