Residents of an Edinburgh flat had to be rescued using a cherry-picker height appliance after a fire tore through the building on Friday.
Three fire engines and a raised platform raced to the blaze on West Preston Street shortly after 9pm, according to Edinburgh Live.
Firefighters arrived on the scene in the city's Newington area five minutes after a call was made at 9.27pm and fought the inferno for over an hour.
Witnesses described their terror as four residents were rescued from a third floor window using the remotely operated platform.
The raging blaze tore through the tenement flat, filling it with thick smoke.
Thankfully there were no casualties reported as a result of the incident.
Eyewitness Stefan Kiks snapped a picture of the fire service crane aloft at the scene, as other firefighters watched on from the ground.
He told Edinburgh Live: "Four people were brought down.
"They told me the fire alarm went off and then there was a huge amount of smoke.
"They couldn't get down through the stairways due to the smoke, so they were rescued through the window."
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed four engines attended West Preston Street at 21:32 on Friday night.
