An Edinburgh parking space has gone on sale for an eye-watering £27,500 - leaving residents gobsmacked. Located just off Albany Street in the city's Old Town, the pricey one-and-a-half car parking spot can be found in a secure car park with a barrier and fob access, Edinburgh Live reports.
In the sale listing for the space, law and property firm Urquharts Solicitors said: "One and a half car size parking space located off Albany Street Lane, within a barriered car park with fob access. Situated in the desirable New Town and neighbouring Broughton area, the location is superb with excellent local amenities and is within walking distance of the city centre and surrounding areas."
According to the Scottish Sun, a shocked Reddit user shared a picture of the listing along with the caption: "£27k for a… parking space? Am I reading that right? Why in the world?"
Many others were similarly baffled by the hefty price of the spot, with some even comparing Edinburgh to London. One commenter replied: "That's bonkers, do they think they're in London or something?!"
Another wrote: "Welcome to Little London." While a third quipped: "You only see a parking spot, with a bit of work that’s a three bed student flat or a luxury AirBnB."
Meanwhile, another said: "Yikes. If you're going to sell a parking spot for £27,500, sweep up the leaves, power wash the moss and draw a fresh line around it before you take the photo."
