A stunning church building has gone up for sale in Shetland, and it's half the price of a flat in Edinburgh.
The detached B-listed church building is located in the parish of Tingwall, approximately 4 miles west of Shetland’s capital of Lerwick. The historic property was built around 1790 and is "surrounded by the wonderful Shetland landscape of rolling hills and beautiful blue lochs".
The building is available for offers over £55,000, making it far cheaper than a one-bedroom flat in Edinburgh. Properties in the capital tend to start at over £100,000 according to Rightmove.

Instagram account CheapScottishHouses said: "This lovely old church was built around the 1790s and is in great condition on the inside and with the right planning could be turned into a quirky home. The church has all its services which is a huge bonus and the location isn’t bad either with its beautiful loch views!"
The accommodation is comprised of a sanctuary, vestry, kitchen, toilet, entrance vestibule and store to the ground floor. In addition, there is a gallery on the first floor.
According to the listing, the graveyard surrounding the church is owned and maintained by the local authority. Additionally, there is a small area of ground to the rear of the church included in the sale.
Regarding planning permission, the listing states: "The subjects are B-Listed and could be used, without the necessity of obtaining change of use consent, as a crèche, day nursery, day centre, educational establishment, museum, art gallery or public library.
"It also has potential for a variety of other uses, such as a theatre, cinema or entertainment venue, hospitality and restaurant, retail space or community resource subject to obtaining appropriate consents. Conversion to residential accommodation might also be possible, again subject to the usual consents."
