Part of a busy Edinburgh street was sealed off by police following an assault during the early hours of Friday morning.
West Maitland Street, at the junction with Grosvenor Street, was taped off after officers were called to reports of an assault around 1:20am on April 21.
On eye witness spotted tape around the area with a police car parked on the street several hours later, with officers now understood to have left the scene.

Police say enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident and it is currently unknown if the victim suffered any injuries.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.20am on Friday, 21 April, 2023, officers were called to a report of an assault on West Maitland Street, Edinburgh.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
Elsewhere in the capital, officers were called to Main Street, Davidson's Mains following a similar incident at the same time. The street was temporarily closed to allow an investigation to take place following a 'serious assault'.
A 20-year-old man was rushed to the Royal Infirmary and enquiries into the incident are also ongoing.
