Edinburgh police swoop on Tranent amid reports of a disturbance

Edinburgh police swoop on Tranent after reports of a disturbance in the North West part of Edinburgh.

Cops were called out to the New Row and Bridge Street areas of Tranent at around 12.30pm on Wednesday, July 15, amid reports of a disturbance.

While the exact circumstances of the disturbance have not yet been released, two men have since been arrested in connection with the incident.

The two men, aged 25 and 34, were arrested by Edinburgh police, and cops remain on the scene as they attempt to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 12.30pm on Wednesday 15 June, to a report of a disturbance in the New Row and Bridge Street areas of Tranent.

“Officers attended and two men, ages 25 and 34, have been arrested in connection with the incident. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”

This comes as more cops swoop down to Sighthill Park amid reports of a massive fight in the Southwest of the city.

Locals report that someone has been hit with a weapon in the massive city brawl on Wednesday evening and police were spotted racing to the scene.
