Edinburgh police have seized a plush BMW after the driver was found without a valid licence.
Community officers were on patrol in the Slateford area of Edinburgh when they came across a white BMW.
They found that the 32-year-old driver didn't have a valid licence and the car was not insured. From there, the police collected it from Hutchinson Terrace on Monday night (January 9).

Posting on Twitter, Edinburgh South West Police add: "The 32 year old driver didn't have a valid licence & the car wasn't insured. That's why it's now sitting in one of our yards and the man has been reported to the PF."
As Police Scotland state: "If a vehicle is stopped by the police on a road or public place without a valid policy of insurance it can be seized. This is under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act. The vehicle would not be released until you have a valid policy of insurance."
The driver will have to pay a release fee (this includes a recovery fee and storage charges). If vehicles are not claimed after 14 days, they are then are disposed of to recover costs.
If found without a valid insurance can land you between six and eight penalty points if prosecuted at court, along with being disqualified and fined £5000. If the offence is dealt with at the roadside with a fixed penalty, drivers can be fined £300 and given six penalty points.
