Edinburgh drivers were caught out by local police this week after a number of offences were noted on residential roads.
Road Police had been out on a number of occasions in the capital this week as part of Operation Close Pass, which looks to protect vulnerable road users.
Stationed at Saughton Road North and on Ravelston Dykes on Thursday (April 21), officers stopped and spoke to swathes of unsuspecting drivers.

Carrying out speed checks as well as assessing how the individuals were driving, police confirmed on social media that 17 people were taken aside for a conversation about their motoring.
In addition, six tickets were handed out for "various offences", after similar patrols were conducted in Inverleith and Comely Bank on Tuesday.

Speaking in a warning on social media, Edinburgh Police said:
"North West Community officers and @polscotrpu ran #OpClosePass on Saughton Road North and Ravelston Dykes along with speed checks.
"17 Drivers got the #ChatOnTheMat 6 tickets for various offences."
