Edinburgh police charge ten drivers in a week as officers launch crack down

Edinburgh police charged ten motorists this week with various offences, as they prepare to clamp down on dodgy motorists.

The arrests varied from dangerous and drunk driving, to getting behind the wheel without insurance or a licence, or failure to obey road signs. From January 30, city centre officers will be stepping up their activity on the hunt for bad drivers.

According to officers, locals have asked for increased checks on motorists obeying signage, parking at schools and speeding on Albany Street and Royal Circus North.
