Edinburgh Police appeal to the public to help trace missing 55-year-old man

Police in Edinburgh are appealing to the public in order to trace a missing 55-year-old man who was reported missing from the Leith area of the capital.

They say that Michael Jones was last spotted shortly before midnight on Tuesday August 2 on Parliament Street.

Officers say that Michael has disappeared for a number of days in the past but those that know him have become concerned for his well being and are asking for anyone with any relevant information to come forward to help trace his whereabouts.

The man is described as being around six foot tall and having a medium build with a red bushy beard as well as a Welsh accent.

He is understood to have been wearing a Bob Marley t-shirt and beanie hat whilst also carrying a rucksack when he was last seen.

Sergeant, Richard Homewood, said: “Michael has gone off for a few days on his own in the past but we are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare and I would ask anyone who has seen him or knows where he is to get in touch.

“If you can help please calls us on 101, quoting reference number 1277 of Thursday, 4 August, 2022.”
