Edinburgh police appeal for witnesses after vandals cause £5k damage at primary school

Edinburgh police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after thousands of pounds worth of damages were caused at a community primary school.

Officers took to social media to appeal for information after vandalism at Trinity Primary School caused £5,000 in damages. The incident took place on Friday July 29 at around 1:30pm.

Police say that they have opened up an investigation into the crime at the school located on Newhaven Road. They have urged anyone with information on the incident to come forward and contact them.

The Edinburgh Police Division took to Facebook to say: “We are appealing for information following vandalism at a school in Edinburgh.

“The incident took place at Trinity Primary School on Newhaven Road at about 1.30pm on Friday, 29th July, during which over £5000 worth of damage was caused to school equipment.

“We are conducting a thorough investigation and urge anyone with any information to contact Police via 101, quoting incident 2591 of the 29th July 2022 or anonymously via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
