A free Platinum Jubilee celebration event has been announced in Edinburgh next weekend to mark the Queen's 70-year reign.

On June 5, West Princes Street Gardens will play host to Edinburgh’s Platinum Jubilee Celebration, which will include live music and big screen entertainment.

Locals and tourists are encouraged to bring their picnic baskets to the gardens for performances by the Band of HM Royal Marines Scotland and Love Music Community Choir — as well as a special Edinburgh Festival Carnival parade.
