NHS Lothian has the highest number of babies born addicted to substances in the last five years.
This comes as more than 1,100 babies have been born dependent on substances in the last five years and has led to calls for world-leading alcohol and drug services in Scotland.
According to figures obtained by the Scottish Liberal Democrats through freedom of information legislation, 1,123 babies have been born with the neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) in Scotland since 2017.
