Edinburgh Napier University offers all students free breakfast as living costs soar

Edinburgh Napier students have been told they will be able to access a free breakfast every day as living costs continue to rise across the country.

Speaking on Friday, the university said they wanted to do "all we can" to try and support their students, with the scheme to launch on Monday, October 17.

Running at all of the university's three campuses, Merchiston, Craiglockhart and Sighthill, the free meals will be available from 8.30am each morning.

Offering a select menu, the university said: "We understand the impact that the rising cost of living has on our students, and we want to do all we can to support you.

"You'll be able to grab a breakfast roll and a hot drink from our 'Bean to Cup' range from 8.30am to 10.30am. All you need to do is show your Edinburgh Napier student card at the till.

The announcement comes as many larger companies across the UK have shared plans to try and help those in need during the crisis, with supermarkets such as Asda offering soup, rolls and unlimited hot drinks to over 60s for £1.
