Edinburgh mourners will be able to visit the coffin of Queen Elizabeth II after a full plan for her arrival in the capital was confirmed.
Following the death of Her Majesty on Thursday, the monarch will arrive in the Scottish capital on Sunday following a procession travelling down from Balmoral.
First being taken to the Palace of Holyroodhouse on Sunday, the city has already been prepared for a procession on Monday (September 12), where the coffin will be taken to St Giles' on the High Street.

The Scottish Government have issued a full itinerary for the event, which will see many members of the Royal Family including King Charles attend a service.
On Monday 12 September Her Majesty’s Coffin will be borne in Procession from the Palace of Holyroodhouse to St Giles’ Cathedral. In addition to the official party, it will be flanked by The King’s Bodyguard for Scotland (Royal Company of Archers) and the Guard of Honour.

Minute guns will be fired as the Procession makes its way up the Royal Mile. The last round will fire as the Hearse stops outside St Giles’ Cathedral, with those hoping to watch the procession advised to leave plenty of time.
At 3pm on Monday, the service dedicated to the Queen will take place at St Giles', with the service being led by the Reverend Calum MacLeod.
Following the service, Her Majesty The Queen will lie at Rest at St Giles’ Cathedral following the Service before the Coffin’s journey to London.
Members of the public who wish to do so will be able to view the Coffin at Rest and pay their respects. This is anticipated to begin around 5pm on Monday,September 12, and conclude the following afternoon.
Those wishing to visit the coffin have been advised that there will be a high level of interest, with a queueing system to be in place that could last hours. Security checks will be in place at St Giles’ and certain restrictions will apply on mobile phones.
On Tuesday, September 13, the Queen will then be moved from St Gile's in a final procession, which will head to Edinburgh Airport, before she is flown back to London.
The procession will be televised and public viewing will be available along the route.
