The Edinburgh Monarchs have announced that they will be fielding two sides in this season’s Northern Junior League with the introduction of the Armadale Angels.
The move comes about following the hugely successful launch of the Monarchs Speedway Academy last year with plenty of young local riders taking up the sport.
As such, the club have decided that further opportunities should be created for competitive action with the NJL only offering two places per team for 125cc riders so the Angels have been formed and will compete alongside the West Lothian Wildcats.
The Monarchs Speedway Academy was launched last year with the aim of introducing young riders to the sport from the age of five up to fully fledged speedway riders. A mini-track was established at Armadale Stadium as part of the venture.
The Academy is welcoming newcomers for the new season. For further information, visit the club’s website at www.edinburghmonarchs.co.uk.
