A man has died following a fall from the George IV Bridge in Edinburgh on Thursday.
Emergency services raced to the scene on March 17, with police closing a large area around the Cowgate shortly after 10am.
Reported to have fallen from a great height, it has now been confirmed a 48-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Enquiries are now ongoing into the incident, however the man's family have been informed.

The Daily Record reports that the Health and Safety Executive have also been made aware of the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were made aware of a 48-year-old man having fallen from height onto Cowgate in Edinburgh around 10am on Thursday, 17 March, 2022.

“Emergency services attended, however, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His family is aware. “Enquiries into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing and the Health and Safety Executive has been informed.”
