The BBC’s newest dating show, a first for the channel, is set to feature 10 gay men looking for love.
Kicking off on May 13, I Kissed a Boy will see the romantic hopefuls enter in pairs and ‘start their journey with a kiss’. Hosted by Dannii Minogue, the pairs will then decide whether to stay in their pairs or move on to another boy.
Among the cast is Ben, the only Scottish contestant, who hails from Edinburgh. Ahead of the premiere, the BBC said: “The I Kissed a Boy cast are in for a smooch-filled summer.

“The 10 contestants will enter the masseria in pairs, and will start their journey with a kiss. Will sparks fly from the first snog with a stranger, or will there be a kissing catastrophe?
“Either way, pop icon and LGBTQ+ ally Dannii Minogue will be on hand to help the boys find love and oversee a series of Kiss-Offs, where each pair will decide whether to stay in their current partnership – or save their kiss for another boy. And with every participant an option, there’s sure to be plenty of dating drama.”
Edinburgh born Ben, who describes himself as having the ‘goofiness of Goofy with the grumpiness of Shrek’, will be entering the Italian villa.
Ben said he’s looking for: “A cheeky chappie who makes him laugh – and has ‘a nice peachy bum!’ He describes himself as ‘hopeless with love’ so wants someone with whom he can break his romantic losing streak.”

Now living in London, Ben says he was the only gay man in his university class while studying engineering. He added that he's finally been able to make gay friends down in London.
Among the cast is also Josh from Wales, who has never kissed a boy, Gareth from Northern Ireland, who is ‘exhausted by the London gay scene’, and seven other boys looking for love.
