A Jet2 flight that was due to land at Edinburgh this afternoon transmitted a signal indicating a general emergency due to a passenger requiring medical attention.
The passenger flight set off from Geneva at around 12.20pm and was due to land at Edinburgh airport at around 1.50pm on Saturday March 18.
But the Jet2 Flight LS780 transmitted a code 7700, which indicated a general emergency as it was near Dalkeith in Midlothian, at around 1.30pm.

FlightRadar had sent out an update to state that the plane travelling from Switzerland to Scotland had sent out the distress signal.
A spokesperson confirmed that a passenger required medical attention and that was the reason behind the flight sending out the signal.
They said: “We can confirm that this was due to a customer requiring medical attention.”
