Edinburgh has been given an urgent wildfire warning as the city's heatwave is set to continue this week.
With temperatures hitting 20 degrees and higher most days, the dry and warm conditions have caused an increased risk of wildfires sparking, according to officials. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have now issued advice to parts of the east of Scotland and have urged locals to "act responsibly" as they enjoy the summer weather.
With Edinburgh and the Lothians at 'high risk' of a fire until Thursday, July 14, Group Commander, Lynne Gow said: "We're asking people to act responsibly when enjoying the outdoors and think twice before using a naked flame." Hoping to avoid as many accidental fires as possible, the emergency services have issued the following advice in order for people to "protect themselves from danger."
