Built way back in 1912, the Old Tynecastle High School and what should be become of the iconic structure has long fostered debate among residents.
Locals opposed various proposals, with the school left to rot after 2010 - until plans for over 500 student flats were approved. Spanning a huge portion of McLeod Street, the building was a topic of contention in the area for years.
While new plans have been approved, the structure appears to remain untouched. Many windows are still smashed in, though police cameras remain on the grounds to keep an eye out for trespassers.
