Edinburgh hotel fire started in room as residents evacuated from building

Edinburgh SFRS Scottish Fire and Rescue Service

A fire that broke out at a Haymarket hotel in Edinburgh began in a room, it has been revealed.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) were called to the incident at the Haymarket Hub Hotel on Clifton Terrace at 5.07pm on Saturday January 7 and remained there until after midnight.

Seven appliances and two height appliances - some of which were relief crews for the main dispatch - were in attendance at the incident, reports Edinburgh Live.
