Edinburgh homeowner forced to spend £2,000 after house given 'E' energy rating

An Edinburgh council worker, who lives just outside the city, was forced to fork out an extra £2,000 when she came to sell her home - after she was given an 'E' energy rating.

The cost comes as thousands of homeowners face renovation bills of more than £10,000 to sell as a result of new Scottish Government energy rules.
