Edinburgh Hibs fans filmed outside Tynecastle with smoke grenades and fireworks

Edinburgh Hibs fans have been filmed heading along the road outside Tynecastle with smoke grenades and pyrotechnics before the New Year derby.

The match took place at 3pm on January 2 and saw thousands of fans attend the Heart of Midlothian stadium.

The video shows dozens of fans jumping around as green smoke fills the air before the huge match. Many are seeing chanting with their faces covered as others film the procession, led by a drummer.

A fan shared the clip to TikTok which has been viewed over 1000 times and did clarify he was aware his team got beat but the clip was from before the match.

There are drums, chanting and dozens of people filming the scenes on their phones as the Hibs fans take over Gorgie Road.

One TikTok user joked: "Celebrated a bit early did use no 3-0". Others also joked about the score.

The capital rivals went head to head at Tynecastle with Robbie Neilson's men grabbing the bragging rights in Gorgie. A big result in the race for third spot and European football.

On the pitch, Lawrence Shankland continued his fine run of form as his double coupled up with Stephen Humphrys strike settled the Edinburgh Derby.

Hearts have been in stunning form following the World Cup shutdown and they added another three points to their tally thanks to a double from their captain fantastic and a goal in added on time. The Scotland international has taken over the armband for the rest of the campaign after Craig Gordon's season-ending injury and he lead from the front in this one in a solid display for the Jambos.
