An Edinburgh hairdressers have announced they have changed their policy to charge cuts by 'length not gender.'

The Bona Hair salon in Edinburgh spoke out this week to inform their clients that they would be changing the way they priced and charged for their beauty services.

Adjusting the pricing, the new layout will mean that the cost of a haircut is calculated by the length of hair chopped, rather than a 'ladies' or 'gents' cut.

A ‘clipper cut’ will now cost £20, with a ‘short above the ears’ cut costing £30. A ‘medium length below the ear-collar bone’ cut will be £39, with a ‘long -collar bone and below’ chop being the most expensive at £45.

In a post on social media, the salon also added that they would now be offering 'silent' appointments, for customers who wished to not chat during their visit.
