As an independent film festival, it focuses on films that were made independently in the surrounding area. This year the festival’s programme will feature a majority of Scottish made and based films.

The films will be introduced by Scottish musicians and storytellers and will aim to celebrate community resilience.

Taking place at the Filmhouse cinema and the Scottish Storytelling Centre this will be the event's first in person gathering since the coronavirus pandemic began.

For those who would prefer to continue watching online, that option will still be available.

Most events will be free or on a pay what you can basis to keep with the theme of community and the vent is beginning on June 17 until July 1.

Some highlights include a series of films made within Fife Coalfields communities during lockdown called Films of Action, a powerful tribute to the Isle of Skye’s 19th century warrior poet called Mhair Mhor, two feature documentaries celebrating major figures of the Irish music scene.
