Edinburgh family informed as body of 53-year-old man found under Dean Bridge

An Edinburgh family have been informed after a body of a 53-year-old man was found under Dean Bridge on Wednesday morning.

Police in the city were made aware of the body and attended the scene around 10.30am.

The individual was found underneath the West End bridge and pronounced dead at the scene.

The 53-year-old's death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious and his family have now been told.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of the body of a 53-year-old man beneath Dean Bridge in Edinburgh shortly after 10.30am on Wednesday, 27 April.

“Emergency services attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin has been made aware.

“The death is being treated as unexplained but there are no apparent suspicious circumstances.”
