On May 5 voters in Edinburgh will head to their local polling stations to cast a vote in the 2022 council elections.
Those who haven't opted to use a postal vote, which have become more common following the pandemic, have to make their way to one of over 150 polling places across the city to fill in a ballot, ranking candidates by numerical preference.
Due to the months of disruption to pupils' education throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, Edinburgh City Council has removed all schools from the city's polling place register this year.

Among the replacement venues for schools confirmed by the local authority are supermarkets, bowling clubs, mobile polling booths, hotels and a yoga studio.
