A dopey Edinburgh driver crashed his pal's new BMW into a parked van while showing off with a series of wheel spins.
Kieran Bain lost control of the car while performing the manoeuvres in an Edinburgh cul-de-sac. The 23-year-old and the vehicle's owner, who was his passenger, fled from the scene following the collision.
Bain appeared at the city's sheriff court on Thursday and admitted driving without due care and attention and without insurance. He was banned from getting behind the wheel for ten months after a sheriff branded his antics "silly in the extreme".

Fiscal depute Gillian Koren said the incident took place in Southhouse Grove in the Burdiehouse area at around midday, reports the Record.
Ms Koren said witnesses heard the black BMW's engine "revving loudly" and observed it "performing wheel spins and driving up and down the street". The prosecutor said Bain "lost control next to a grass verge" and collided with a Ford Transit van.
The court heard the van was shunted forward and came to rest beside a garden fence.
Ms Koren said: "Both driver and passenger ran from the vehicle." Defence agent Colin Severin said Bain's friend had just purchased the BMW and they were "taking it out for a spin".
Mr Severin said his unemployed client had been "showing off". The solicitor said Bain had accumulated six penalty points on his licence since the incident, which took place on November 14 2019.
Sheriff Adrian Fraser said Bain's driving deserved an outright ban. Bain, of the city's Gilmerton area, was disqualified for ten months and ordered to carry out 63 hours of unpaid work.
