Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home work in collaboration with the likes of local authorities and police services by taking lost, stray and abandoned pets from across Edinburgh and the Lothians.

Organisers say: "We are so excited to announce the return of our Open Day, taking place at the Home on Sunday 4th September from 12pm to 4pm. Our last Open Day was held in 2019, so you can bet we are more than excited to get the gates open and welcome our community down to the Home for a jam-packed, fun-filled day together!

"We have lots of great activities planned for you and your pets to take part in – drop into our education, kids, and chill out zones; do some shopping at our market stalls; take part in our pet competitions and enjoy a bite to eat, all at our seaside site.

"To kick off all the fun inside our gates, we are delighted to announce the return of our much loved doggy fun run, Jog with Gobi. Sign up now to get an early-bird discount! Jog with Gobi kicks off at 10am.

"Catering and refreshments will be available on the day, along with water stations to keep you and your furry friends cool."

The Home is located at 26 Seafield Road East, Edinburgh, EH15 1EH.
