An Edinburgh couple have thanked good samaritans who came to their rescue while they were out for a family stroll last week.
Ara and John Allan, a pair of experienced walkers, left from Harlaw Reservoir with their son and daughter-in-law on Saturday, for what was supposed to be a gentle walk.
Unlike some of the previous hikes the family had been on, the afternoon stroll was expected to be a relaxed event, with the route taking a circuit around the area.
