A tourist taking a scenic Sunday stroll in Edinburgh captured the sweet moment a man surprised his partner with a proposal at Calton Hill in the capital.
The spectator was walking at the beauty spot when he spotted a bagpiper standing at the foot of the monument belting out Caledonia by Dougie McLean. Surprised by this scene, he got his camera out and began to film.
Then came the most surprising moment of all, when a man walking just in front of the videographer got down on one knee and proposed to his partner. The proposing man can be seen just in front of the monument at the end of the video, to the left of the piper.

According to the bystander, she said yes, and the piper changed his tune to congratulations afterwards.
Writing on Twitter, the man said: "Early morning hilltop walk in Edinburgh only a guy and woman in front of us. Suddenly a piper appears from nowhere and starts playing, Me(Mr oblivious) standing watching- I didn’t realise the guy had planned it all and got down on one knee.
"Piper must think I was a witness!"
One touched Twitter user asked: "How lovely! Did she say yes?" The viewer replied: "Yep then the piper changed to playing Congratulations."
Other Twitter users joined in on congratulating the lucky couple, as one said: "What a fabulous place to propose."
Another wasn't so happy about the piping video, as he jokingly replied: "Clicked you post, didn’t realise I’m on full volume. Now the whole of coach G on the 10:41 to Edinburgh is trying to find who’s playing f***** bagpipes full pelt at this time of the morning!"
We extend our congratulations to the happy couple, and hope to see their wedding cropping up at Calton Hill in Edinburgh too.
