The head of Edinburgh Council has shared new pictures of the huge Meadowbank Sports Centre that is due to be completed soon.
Adam McVey posted the photos on Twitter last night, February 8, after a visit to the centre - one of the biggest investments in Edinburgh sports for some time.
The grand opening of the centre has been delayed multiple times due to the pandemic and material issues after it closed for a complete renovation in 2017.

McVey posted pictures of the outside running track and one of the multiple games hall's, saying: "Delighted to visit the new Meadowbank Sports Centre today. It's the biggest investment in Edinburgh sport in decades, providing amazing new facilities. Something the whole city can be proud of."
The finished article will include top-of-the-range facilities such as games halls, a gym, an outdoor running track and a cafe, bringing a new lease of life to the area.
Some £47 million has been put into the redevelopment, with Edinburgh City expected to return to play their home games once the project is complete, having moved to Ainslie Park when work began.
The opening of the centre was originally planned for last year, but due to issues surrounding Covid and sourcing the right materials, it has been pushed back further and no official completion date has been set, although it does not appear to be far away.
The centre will include top-of-the-range sporting facilities to provide the local community with a new and exciting facility to train and compete.
With additions to Meadowbank Retail Park and a brand-new student accommodation block opposite the centre, a rejuvenation of the Meadowbank and Abbeyhill area is expected once the grand opening is unveiled.
Although the huge sign on the front of the building has been erected for a while now, it adds to the impressive stature of the building and can be seen for miles.
As well as the impressive facilities inside, there will be stands with seating areas for outdoor football games and a huge running track round the back of the centre.
