A huge new development could be built on the outskirts of Edinburgh if plans are approved by the council.
A pre application notice will be discussed by the council's Development Management Sub Committee this week after Taylor Wimpey announced plans for the extensive site near Ratho.
Located on the current farmland northwest of Freelands Road, near the airport, the planned location would stretch from the back of Ratho Cemetery all the way across to the edge of the M8.

Although a formal application is still to be made, the pre-notice has confirmed that if approved, the development would include a number of mixed houses, as well as commercial buildings.
As well as extending the current cemetery, the site would also involve new spaces for businesses as well as community facilities to accommodate the new residents.
