Edinburgh Christmas Market: The official closing date for the popular attraction

Widely considered to be one of the best places to go at Christmas time, Edinburgh is regularly named as one of the UK's top festive destinations.

With the Christmas market and Santa Land taking over Princes Street Gardens, the Forth One Big Wheel offering unrivalled views of the city and skaters able to enjoy the Lidl ice rink on George St there is plenty to see and do.

A huge draw for people from all over the UK, as well as festive fun-seeking residents, thousands have already enjoyed what's on offer.

But if you haven't made the trip yet and are still looking to, you might be getting anxious with the big day looming but don't worry, we've got the vital dates you need to ensure you don't miss out.

When does Edinburgh's Christmas Market run until?

The main Edinburgh Christmas Market will run right until January 3, with opening times from 10 am until 10 pm.

Though it'll be closed on Christmas Day, you can still enjoy the fun on Christmas Eve (10 am until 8 pm) and Boxing Day (12pm until 8pm).

Other restricted times include December 31 when it will close at 6pm and January 1 when it will run from 12 pm until 8 pm.

When does the Lidl Ice Rink on George Street run until?

The temporary ice rink on George Street is one of the favourite festive destinations this year following its return.

Much like the markets it also finishes up on January 3.
