The Edinburgh City Bypass has been closed in both directions at a major junction after a pedestrian was hit by a car.
Police shut off the section of road on the A720 after racing to the scene at the Straiton junction on Saturday morning (September 3.)
With the first reports of an RTC coming in shortly after 5.25am, emergency services have now remained at the scene for over three hours.

A major diversion is in place for drivers surrounding the junction, with Traffic Scotland warning motorists to avoid the area.
It is currently unclear if there have been any casualties as a result of the incident.

A tweet from Traffic Scotland shortly after 8am read: "#A720 is closed in both directions at Straiton, this is due to a road traffic accident.
"The road will be closed for some time. Use the available signed diversion route."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on the A720 Edinburgh City Bypass southbound near the Straiton Junction shortly after 5.10am on Saturday, 3 September.
“Emergency services remain at the scene and the road is currently closed.”
