When the weather's a little gloomy it's hard to imagine our city as a hotspot for beach cafe culture, but a popular seafront drinking spot has just been namechecked as one of the best in the UK.
Luxury travel magazine Suitcase has recently published a 'Summer Sundowners' article, which showcases seven UK beach bars to bookmark.
In their guide you'll find the expected Devon and Cornwall entries, while destinations in Kent and Sussex also feature.

However, only one Scottish seaside location makes the list - and it's right here in the capital.
Described as 'a playground for the city's cool kids', writers give The Boathouse on Portobello a lot of love for its interiors, Saturday night atmosphere and in particular - the frozen cocktails.
Declaring itself as 'Edinburgh's best beach bar', staff describe the venue - the former Cropley's Bar - as 'a truly unique Scottish paradise.'
Here's what Suitcase had to say: "A summer drinks menu that has an entire section dedicated to frozen cocktails? We'll have one of each, please.
"Overlooking Edinburgh's Portobello Beach, The Boathouse first opened its doors back in 2019, and has been a playground for the city's cool kids ever since. Interiors are made complete with neon lights, flower walls and a wooden pergola draped in fairy lights.
"Party people should visit on a Saturday night, and arrive hungry - the food menu is too tempting to resist.
"Our order? The bruschetta paired with an enormous bowl of Napoli pasta, washed down with an icy porn star martini."
We can only hope it heats up soon - it might be worth taking a trip out to the beach to escape the Fringe madness in the coming weeks!
