An Edinburgh bar has been forced to close on Sundays due to 'the cost of living crisis and staffing issues'.
Philly’s, a bar, eatery and private function venue in the heart of the industrial estate at the Gyle took the drastic measure due to a 'mixture of problems'. It will open on Sundays and Mondays for events and private functions only, going forward.
Staff took to social media to announce their Sunday closure this week.

A statement shared on their official Instagram account read: "Due to continued staffing challenges and rising costs, we have made the difficult decision to close Philly's on Sundays going forward. We will still be opening when we are having events, like our South African braai, we have a few of them coming up so keep an eye on this page.
“We will be able to offer Philly's for any private functions or events on Sundays or Mondays. If you fancy having your event with us, drop us an email to laura@phillysedinburgh.com.
“Regards, The Philly's Team.”
The closure may feel like a dagger through the heart of regular punters who enjoyed a pint on sport-packed Sundays and the boozer.
Philly's sits in Lochside Place in the West of the city. For more updates follow their official Facebook and Instagram pages.
