Irvine Welsh has hilariously hit out at a group of Hearts supporters who posed up with a supporter's flag branded the "worst ever".
The Trainspotting author was unimpressed with the fans who had travelled north from Edinburgh on Saturday to watch Hearts take on Aberdeen at Pittodrie.
In the image, five men can be seen standing in Union Square, Aberdeen proudly holding aloft a Union Jack emblazoned with the words ‘Tory supporters on tour, say no to the SNP’.

The flag also features the faces of former Prime Minister’s Boris Johnson and David Cameron alongside the Hearts club crest.
The group of fans have since been the subject of ridicule on social media, with Welsh chipping in a particularly hilarious scathing review of the men on Sunday.
The 64-year-old wrote: “[They] might as well just take out a billboard advert saying ‘I’ve not had my hole and I just can’t see where it’s coming from.’”
His tweet has received over 3,300 likes and 140 comments from amused fans who chipped in with their own takes on the flag.
One wrote: “That’s the worst flag I have ever seen ever from any football supporters anywhere ever. Jambos setting a new standard.”
Another added: “Don’t hold back now, Irvine mate.”
A third replied: “Surely this is a stitch up, can’t be real.”
Another commented: “They were on the train home by 4pm.”
A fifth retorted: “I’m embarrassed for them.”
Hearts were soundly beaten three nil by Aberdeen as a double from their Portuguese playmaker Duk and a stooping header from Mattie Pollock had the Dons three up in half an hour.
Welsh has long supported Hearts' Edinburgh rivals Hibernian and has at times filtered them into his writing - including various references to them in his cult classic 1993 novel Trainspotting.
