That pre-flight pint is almost the stuff of legend. For some, it wouldn't be a holiday if you weren't to race through security to enjoy a couple of well deserved drinks after finally putting on your out-of-office.
But many airport bars are hit and miss. Obviously you're unlikely to find the city's best pub hidden away in an airport departure lounge.
They're often overpriced and underwhelming - should we expect anything more? Probably not.

At least at international airports, including Edinburgh, you're given a few options.
We had a scan through TripAdvisor to find out how travellers rate the drinking options in departures and were pleasantly surprised to find a bar travellers rank pretty highly, with some even describing a stop off there as a 'great start to the holiday'.
From 531 reviews on the travel site, Edinburgh Airport's All Bar One has a 4.5 rating, with 350 'excellent' five star reviews.
And the customer feedback is pretty consistent, it's all about the excellent service of the staff behind the bar as people try to get a round of drinks in before hearing the dreaded 'last call'.
One person leaving a 5 out of 5 review said: "Anna at All Bar One was amazing!!! We never had an empty glass or plate! We got here early ahead of storms and she looked after us for hours! Fabulous! Employee of the year!"
Another customer added: "Bar was close to closing and Julie took pity on me. Good food, excellent service and she recommended beer! Thank you again it won’t be forgotten"
A further staff member was also complimented, with one review reading: "Wonderful time at All Bar One, great food and drink and exceptional service from the lovely Andrew. Would recommend to all."
Yet, as well as the service, the food at All Bar One seems to be pretty popular too.
One comment reads: "I wish I'd caught the server's name! She was absolutely LOVELY! Recommended the Pad Thai and also kept an eye on the gate so we knew when we'd be boarding! So fantastic!"
Meanwhile, those flying in the morning might want to consider grabbing a bite to eat according to another review, which hailed the All Bar One brunch. It said: "Olga Took great care of us. She had a lovely personality and was very attentive. Excellent breakfast food. Thanks again."
But above all, people have found the bar to be the best way to get their holiday underway.
One review said: "Dinner was fabulous, we were off to celebrate my husband 60th and this was a great start to the weekend. Fabulous service from Kinga."
Another person commented: "Had a lovely visit to All Bar One before our flight. Breakfast was lovely. Kayti was amazing ,very polite.
"Thanks for making a great start to our holiday ..keep up the good work Kayti."
And one person summed up the thoughts of many who have left a review, by saying the bar is "better than I expected in an airport!".
