Edinburgh Airport has issued an important message to anyone heading to The Open Championship this week.
Golf fans are eagerly waiting for The Open Championship to kick off on July 17. The tournament is a long awaited event in the sports calendar and is taking place in St Andrews from Thursday to Sunday July 14.
Ahead of this, Edinburgh Airport has released advice as it prepares for a flock of golf fans. Many will be flying to Edinburgh and the airport has offered travel guidance for tourists.

In a statement they say: "Many spectators are of course arriving at Edinburgh Airport before heading onwards to Fife's east coast - and many more will continue to fly in ahead of the weekend.
"While we don't doubt some fans will be based in our capital city for the duration of the championships, many others will be heading straight across the Firth of Forth to set up camp near the home of golf.
"Therefore it's no surprise for us to see a rise in the number of people enquiring about travel from EDI to Fife."
Here's how you can get to St Andrews from Edinburgh Airport.
Bus
There are buses that leave the airport and head straight to Fife and Dundee. If you're staying in Fife you can get the JET 747 which runs 24/7, departs from the airport every 30 minutes from Stop G and goes to Ferrytoll Park and Ride, Inverkeithing Train Station and Halbeath Park and Ride.
For those staying in Dundee, around ten miles from St Andrews, you can get the Xplore Dundee X90 service from Stop E. This journey takes around 80 minutes and departs every 90 minutes between 4.30am and 1.30am.
Train
Trains will run from Edinburgh Waverley, Edinburgh Haymarket and Edinburgh Gateway for Fife, with Leuchars the nearest station to St Andrews. However there is a temporary timetable in place with a reduced service and Edinburgh Airport are urging customers to plan accordingly and consider using other modes of transport.
You can get to Edinburgh's train stations easily using the tram which departs the airport every seven minutes between 7am and 10.48pm. The Airlink 100 bus also operates to Haymarket and Waverley 24 hours a day, leaving every ten minutes during the day.
Car
The journey by car takes around 70-80 minutes. You can hire a car from Alamo, Europcar, Avis, National, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz and Sixt. Or you can get a taxi or private hire.
