Edinburgh Airport has issued an important parking update for people picking up travellers.
As a massing £1.6million redevelopment of its Pickup and Dropoff area begins, the airport has announced it is moving the current pick-up zone to a new location.
Drivers arriving at the airport to collect passengers should follow the normal route but rather than entering the ground floor of the multi-storey car park they should follow new signage and turn into the nearby terminal car park.

The new pick-up zone will be in use from Monday, January 16. There is no change to the location of the drop-off zone.
Along with a new pay machine that will be used for cash payments at the coast park, there will be clear signs and wayfinding in place to direct passengers from the arrivals halls to the temporary pick-up through a covered walkway.

The temporary pick-up is in close proximity to the terminal building, and the move comes as teams begin work on the project to transform Edinburgh Airport's ground-floor of the multi-storey car park. They aim to complete the development in time for the busy summer 2023 season.
While these works will result in a change to the location of the charged pick-up zone, passengers are reminded that there is also a free pick-up and drop-off zone in the Long Stay car park where they can stop for 30-minutes without charge.
The redeveloped pick-up zone is expected to be completed in time for the summer period and the airport adds that the new zone will be safer and offer more user-friendly facilities.
